Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lucas Dy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vladimir Harkkonan!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harkkonan tries to clinch but Dy moves out of range.
Dy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Harkkonan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dy won't be happy with that.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Harkkonan looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Dy is avoiding damage well.
Harkkonan tries to advance position but instead Dy slips a leg back in to half guard.
Harkkonan thows a huge punch but Dy dodges it nicely.
Dy is refusing to be controlled, as Harkkonan sits in half guard.
Dy wants to improve his position but Harkkonan is controlling well.
Harkkonan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Dy is trying to stand up here but Harkkonan is controlling him well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dy is trying to control but can't.
Harkkonan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dy keeps working.
Harkkonan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dy is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Harkkonan scores with a couple of nice shots.
Dy is rocked!
Harkkonan stops Dy from getting back to his feet.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Harkkonan lands a nice short elbow.
Oh Dy is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Harkkonan is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Dy is hurt! He's hurt bad - Harkkonan fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Dy from any more punishment! Congratulations to Harkkonan! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vladimir Harkkonan!
