Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Durkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zoey Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jacob Durkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zoey Malone! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malone lands a nice looking kick to the body. Durkin takes a step back to recover. Malone fails with a takedown attempt. Malone shoots in for a takedown but Durkin shows good takedown defense. Durkin swinging wildly here.
Malone throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Jacob Durkin has been cut. Malone shoots and misses and Durkin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Jacob Durkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zoey Malone. Durkin tests Malone's chin there with a solid looking shot.
It looks like Zoey Malone has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Malone shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Durkin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Malone thinking. Malone looks gassed! Malone closes the distance but Durkin moves to the side letting Durkin counter with a right hand. Durkin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Nice sprawl there from Durkin as Malone shoots in.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malone avoids a punch combination nicely.
Malone takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Durkin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Durkin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Durkin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Malone sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Durkin decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Malone is defended easily by Durkin. Malone with a poor takedown and Durkin counters with a three punch combo that has Malone backing up. Malone nods at Durkin to acknowledge the strikes. Malone throws a right and a left that both miss. Durkin lands a jab-cross combination.
That has opened up Zoey Malone's cut even more. Durkin lands with a right hand. Durkin instigates a clinch. Durkin pushes Malone back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Durkin manages to break the clinch.
Malone defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Durkin. Malone is trying hard to land a takedown here. Durkin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malone tries to break free but Durkin pushes him back against the cage. Malone lands an elbow just above Durkin 's eye. A frustrated look appears on Malone's face as he tries to break the clinch. Malone is trying desperately to land a takedown but Durkin is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Malone. Durkin blocks an elbow strike from Malone.
Malone creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Malone pulls Durkin into guard.
Durkin wants to stand but Malone has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Durkin stands up from guard. Let's bang! Durkin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Malone showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Durkin.
Malone shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Durkin misses with a straight right. Durkin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Durkin wants it to stay on the feet. Malone with a lazy takedown attempt and Durkin counters with a one-two to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Malone tries a head kick but it misses.
Malone looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Durkin is fending him off so far but Malone persists. Nope, Durkin circles away and we're back to standing. Durkin pushes Malone up against the cage in a clinch. Durkin avoids a wild elbow strike from Malone. Durkin lands a body punch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! An uppercut to the body lands inside from Durkin. Durkin tries to break the clinch but Malone is controlling the position. Malone throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jacob Durkin dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Malone shoots in but no luck this time. Malone misses with a series of wild punches.
Durkin clobbers Malone with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Durkin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Malone shoots in for a takedown but Durkin shows good takedown defense. A jab lands there for Durkin.
The cut above Zoey Malone's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Durkin pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Malone back to the cage. Durkin follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Malone shoots in looking for a takedown but Durkin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Malone's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Jacob Durkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zoey Malone. Durkin has closed the distance and engaged Malone in a clinch.
Durkin wants to break the clinch but can't.
Durkin is trying to push Malone away but Malone has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Malone has Durkin pressed against the cage, preventing Durkin from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Nice body punch from Durkin. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Malone. Malone is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malone misses with an elbow over the top. Durkin gets underhooks to prevent Malone's takedown attempt.
Durkin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Durkin is trying to break free. Durkin manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Malone tries to stand but Durkin is controlling from the bottom. Durkin pulls Malone in to control the position. Malone trying to control the position from guard on top but Durkin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Malone won't allow Durkin to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Malone engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Zoey Malone. Malone displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Durkin. Durkin slaps away a takedown attempt from Malone, before circling back to the center of the mat. No luck for Malone with that takedown attempt. Zoey Malone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Durkin's corner calls for a 1-2. Durkin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Zoey Malone's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Malone moves out of range as Durkin throws a body kick.
Durkin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Zoey Malone's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
