Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hiro Sanchei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sean Sherk is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hiro Sanchei! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Sherk! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchei throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sherk. Sanchei misses with a takedown attempt - Sherk sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Sherk tries for a takedown but Sanchei circles away easily and Sanchei counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Sherk takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Sanchei changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Sanchei swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sanchei fails in his attempt to clinch. Sherk takes one on the button. Sanchei with a lazy takedown attempt and Sherk counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Sanchei gets back to full guard.
Sherk postures up.
Sherk advances to half guard. Sherk is working for a submission of some sort.
Sherk is pressing down on Sanchei's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sanchei is holding on for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchei trying to hold on to Sherk's head to control him but Sherk postures up.
Sanchei manages to get to full guard.
Sherk looks gassed! Sanchei trying to keep a closed guard but Sherk is proving a slippery customer.
Sherk showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Sanchei looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Sanchei striking off his back but it's not causing Sherk any problems. Sanchei wants to sweep but no luck. Sherk wants to pass the guard but Sanchei is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Sherk preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sanchei shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sanchei showed some decent athleticism there. Sherk is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sanchei's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sanchei's back! Sanchei trying to control the hands but Sherk breaks the grip. Sanchei can't escape the position.
Sanchei is working hard here to advance position. Sherk controls the position. Sherk is not going to allow Sanchei to sit and survive in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sherk is trying to stick to Sanchei's back but Sanchei is turning into Sherk. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sherk's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sanchei. Sanchei wants to control from the top but Sherk keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sherk wants to slow Sanchei down by chopping away at his legs. Sanchei misses with the combination.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Sherk is pushing down on Sanchei's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sanchei is fighting to maintain full guard but Sherk has managed to sneak the leg through. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sanchei lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Sanchei. Sanchei misses with a few strikes there.
Sanchei tries to clinch up but Sherk circles away and keeps his distance. Sanchei misses with a series of wild punches.
Sanchei closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sherk to the mat! Sherk manages to get full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sherk wants to improve his position but instead Sanchei has moved into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sanchei gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Sherk counters with a takedown into side control. Sherk is looking to take a break and control but Sanchei is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanchei is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Sherk is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sanchei! Sherk trying to control but he's not successful this time. Sanchei is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sherk looking for a guillotine from mount but Sanchei is having none of it. Sanchei is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Sherk is breathing heavily. Sanchei slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Sanchei is staying active underneath Sherk, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sherk is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Sherk tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sanchei knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Sherk trying to control the action but Sanchei is working from the bottom. Sherk is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Sherk is taking a breather. Sanchei says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Sanchei flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sherk working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Sanchei's thigh. Sanchei counters though and makes it back to full guard. Sherk trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchei is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sanchei is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Sanchei tries to strike from the bottom.
Sanchei is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sherk dives into side control.
Sherk works to advance to full mount. Sanchei defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Sherk tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Sherk goes for an armbar but Sanchei turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sanchei.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sherk has Sanchei pulled in close to control his posture. Sanchei trying to control but Sherk is working from the bottom. Sherk looking to control.
Sherk pulls Sanchei in close to prevent any damage. Sherk is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Still in half guard, Sherk seems content to control. Sanchei is defending against the submission attempts here by Sherk.

Sherk looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Sherk is looking to take a break and control but Sanchei is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sherk working the ground and pound. A lull in the action here. Sherk is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sanchei is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Sherk is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sherk is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Sherk is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sanchei shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sherk's guard.

Sanchei is keen to just control but Sherk is a slippery customer. Sherk has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sanchei is working away from the top position though. Sanchei throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Sherk moves into full guard.

Sherk might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sanchei kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Sherk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanchei doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sanchei manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sherk has his foot on Sanchei's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sanchei works his way back into a safe position though.

Sanchei is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Sherk has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Sanchei is looking to defend but Sherk has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Sanchei! Sherk pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Sanchei taps out and this one is all over!
