The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Carter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Roberts shoots in and gets a takedown into Carter's guard.
Roberts must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Roberts throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Carter tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Roberts is in Carter's guard.

Roberts is working Carter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Roberts throws his legs up looking for a submission but Carter uses it to pass to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Franklin Roberts will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Roberts takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Roberts doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Carter throws a shot from downtown. Roberts moves away and avoids it.
Carter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
A jab lands there for Carter.
Carter lands a right hook to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carter lands with an uppercut that bounces Roberts off the cage and back into range.
Roberts tries for a takedown but Carter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Roberts is breathing heavily.
Carter swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Roberts.
Roberts is rocked!
Carter lands a slapping body shot.
Roberts is still on wobbly legs! Can Carter finish him?
Carter drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Roberts's head, knocking him out cold! Carter is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
