Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leroi Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leroi Moore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mauricio Rua! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moore connects with a crisp jab.
It looks like Mauricio Rua has been cut. Moore lands a nice hook to Rua's body. Rua takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Rua showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Moore.
Moore misses with a wild body shot. Rua uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Moore. Leroi Moore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Moore throws a body punch but Rua moves out of range. Moore jabs Rua right on the nose. Rua blinks but takes it well. This has been an exciting period of action! Rua takes a jab right on the kisser.
Moore misses the body punch and Rua counters with a body kick that stops Moore in his tracks momentarily. Rua clinches up with Moore and pushes him back against the cage. Rua lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Leroi Moore has been cut. Moore is breathing heavily. A right hand to the body from Moore.

Rua tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Moore working aggressively here.
Moore tries a body shot but Rua blocks it.
Moore lands a shoulder strike. A quick uppercut on the inside from Moore.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moore tries to work over Rua's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Rua landing knees to the head.
Rua stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Moore lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Rua backwards. Rua crunches a lovely knee into Moore's ribcage. Rua looking to throw knees to the head but Moore is blocking nicely.
Rua is pushing Moore up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Rua with a knee to the head.
Moore takes a knee to the side of the body. Rua tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Moore misses with a punch to the body.
Moore wants to break free but Rua has control.
Moore tries to break the clinch but Rua is controlling the position. Moore lands with a light punch inside. Moore on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Moore is defending well for now. A right handed body shot lands from Moore.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rua's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Rua blocking some punches.
A head punch on the inside from Moore fails to land. Rua with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Rua lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Moore swings wildly with an uppercut but Rua uses good head movement to avoid it. Rua unloads a knee to the mid-section. Moore lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Rua misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Moore.
Moore pushes Rua back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Moore lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Rua.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moore lands a shoulder strike. Moore is trying to break the clinch but Rua is controlling him. Moore wants to break free but Rua has control.

A battle for position here, against the cage. Moore lands a right hand that snaps the head of Rua backwards. Rua misses with a knee to the head. Moore tries to break the clinch but Rua is controlling the position. Rua is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Moore is defending well for now. Moore misses with a hook to the ribs.
Rua tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Moore avoids it. Moore pushes Rua back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Moore makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Rua is rocked! Moore is trying to break the clinch but Rua is controlling him. Rua is still on wobbly legs! Can Moore finish him? Moore lands with a short shot to the head. Moore throws a big uppercut that drops Rua! More strikes from Moore and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Rua lies dazed against the cage as Moore celebrates with his cornermen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Leroi Moore!
