Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brett Ruffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pizzazz Longez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brett Ruffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pizzazz Longez!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longez throws a hook but Ruffin avoids it easily.
Ruffin shoots in but no luck this time.
Ruffin tries to clinch up
and Longez counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ruffin is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Ruffin moves out of range of the body kick.
Ruffin with a lazy takedown attempt
and Longez counters with a right hand to the body.
Ruffin closes the distance and clinches up with Longez, looking for a takedown. Ruffin pushes Longez against the cage but Longez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brett Ruffin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ruffin takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Longez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ruffin is defended easily by Longez.
Longez dips to his left and cracks Ruffin with an uppercut!
Longez drops Ruffin with a naaaaasty hook - Ruffin is in real trouble here! Longez dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pizzazz Longez!
