Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Evin McDougal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steven Harris told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Evin McDougal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Harris! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. McDougal quickly recovers to half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. McDougal is pressing down on Harris's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. McDougal controls Harris momentarily but Harris frees himself. McDougal throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
McDougal manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McDougal jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Harris is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Harris and McDougal has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Harris knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McDougal is trying to move to mount but Harris reverses beautifully and ends up in McDougal's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McDougal misses with a takedown and Harris counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. McDougal closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McDougal wants to control but Harris is keeping him busy. McDougal throws a strike but Harris avoids it easily and moves to full guard. McDougal passes Harris's left leg - he's now in half guard. Harris is defending against the submission attempts here by McDougal.
McDougal is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Harris has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. McDougal decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Steven Harris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. McDougal fails with a takedown attempt. McDougal will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evin McDougal. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McDougal tries to sprawl but Harris drives through with a takedown into half guard. Harris wants to stand up but McDougal has a hold of him and won't allow it. McDougal wants to control the action here but instead Harris manages to pass to full mount!

Evin McDougal overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. McDougal throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. McDougal can't escape the position.
Harris is looking to work his way around to McDougal's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. McDougal is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
McDougal tries to hold on but Harris postures up. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McDougal keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McDougal is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position. McDougal has given up his back here.
Harris doesn't have the hooks in and McDougal manages to turn into his guard.
McDougal drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McDougal jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. McDougal drops back, looking for a kneebar! Harris looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Harris looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Harris! Harris looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McDougal regains half guard. McDougal looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Harris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McDougal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McDougal looking for submissions from an awkward position here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Harris is looking for a kimura here.

Evin McDougal dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

He's hooked one of Harris's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Harris's back! McDougal is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Harris defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Harris is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McDougal has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Harris! Can he survive? No! He's out! McDougal gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
