Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mateus Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Gracie. Hall does a little dance to reset his feet.
Gracie avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hall misses with a straight right.
Hall scores with a jab. Gracie acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Hall connects with a nice looking jab.
Hall looks to land a combination. Gracie sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Hall moves out of range of the leg kick from Gracie.
Hall lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Hall avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Hall throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.
Gracie misses with a leg kick.
Hall uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.

Hall gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gracie to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Gracie is looking to work some ground and pound but Hall has wrist control.
Hall can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Hall is defending well.

Gracie has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hall's face.

Gracie postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hall looks a forlorn figure.
Hall suckers Gracie into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Hall is now in Gracie's guard!

Hall has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hall is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.

Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Hall throws a series of punches but Gracie avoids them all with ease.

Hall ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
Ben Hall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hall lands a nice shot that snaps Gracie's head back.

Hall is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Hall throws a hook but Gracie avoids it easily.
Ben Hall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hall.
Hall tries to bum rush Gracie with a series of wild strikes but Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gracie throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gracie takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Gracie moves into the clinch.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hall has managed to free his arm - good work.

Hall kicks off Gracie and gets to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hall defending well as Gracie loads up on a big left hand.
Hall clobbers Gracie with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Hall scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Hall checks a leg kick.
Gracie misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gracie keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Gracie gets the takedown into side control.

Hall takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Hall defending against the ground and pound.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hall, who protects the arm well.

Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hall is pushing Gracie's head away, looking to escape. Gracie manages to hold on to the position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hall is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gracie connects with a decent elbow.

Gracie has hold of Hall's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hall tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gracie cranks the arm and Hall screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hall, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mateus Gracie!
An intense looking Mateus Gracie took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Gracie gets on the Mic and proclaims "Sam Axe...I know you are here watching!!! This is my first step in getting back what is mine, not yours!!! I will get my rematch soon and reclaim my title!!"'.
