Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Johns! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown closes the distance and clinches up with Johns, looking for a takedown. Brown pushes Johns against the cage but Johns circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Nice body punch from Johns. Nice takedown defense from Johns. No joy for Brown on that attempt. Johns fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brown, pushing him back against the cage. Johns is pressed up against the cage. Brown has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Johns down to the mat. Johns avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brown shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johns is trying to defend but Brown finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Johns keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Johns gets back to full guard.

Brown throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johns works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Brown pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Johns is keeping the position for now. Johns wants to stand but Brown is controlling the position. Johns wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johns is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Johns should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Brown stands up and waves to Johns to follow him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johns throws a jab but it's blocked by Brown. Johns clinches with his opponent.

Brown tries to score a body lock takedown but Johns shows good agility there to stay on his feet. A short left from Johns. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Joe Johns. Johns clinches with his opponent.
Johns is pushing Brown up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Johns lands with a short head shot on the inside. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Johns takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johns lands a shot to the body. Johns leaning his opponent against the cage. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Joe Johns. Johns fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Brown closes the distance and clinches. A shot in the inside from Johns. Johns content to slow the pace in the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A short left from Johns. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Johns works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

and Brown counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Brown. Johns wants to get back to his feet but Brown is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Brown postures up.
Brown is standing up over Johns. Johns looks to escape but Brown dives into side control.
Johns tries to get back to half guard but can't. Brown tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Johns can't do much from the bottom here. Brown is looking to take a break and control but Johns is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johns keeps Brown under control for a moment. Brown is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johns knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Johns tries to get back to half guard but can't. Brown trying to control the action but Johns is working from the bottom. An elbow from Brown crashes against the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown decides to stand up, so the ref orders Johns to his feet. Johns pushes Brown up against the cage in a clinch. Johns struggles to land a body shot inside as Brown controls his hands.
Johns lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Johns pressing his opponent against the cage. Johns continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Johns pushes Brown back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Stalling in the clinch from Johns.

Brown drops down looking for an ankle pick but Johns pulls his leg out and moves away.

Johns darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Brown shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johns defends it nicely. Johns lunges at Brown with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Brown's hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johns scores with a hook to the body. Brown takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Johns drives through and clinches with Brown against the cage.
A short left from Johns. Johns lands on the inside with an uppercut. Come on Johns - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Johns throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Browns head. Johns has Brown pushed against the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johns cracks Brown with a nice body shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nice body punch from Johns. The referee is keeping an eye on Johns - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Johns showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Johns throws a hook to the side of Brown's head but Brown sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Johns tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brown paws at him with a jab and circles away. Johns lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Brown at a distance.
The crowd cheers as Johns lands an impressive looking overhand right. Brown doesn't seem phased though. Danga de danga de dang - Johns scores with a four punch combination! Johns is looking to clinch. Johns throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's one minute gone in the round. Brown has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Johns uses from the top position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Johns has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brown is proving hard to escape from. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Brown will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Joe Johns was stalling too much, according to the referee. Brown closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
