Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nigel McHughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory Peck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McHughes comes into the arena with Welcome To My Hood blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gregory Peck!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McHughes slips under a jab.
Peck pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
McHughes avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Peck swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McHughes takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
McHughes ducks under a wild hook from Peck.
Peck misses with a double jab
and McHughes counters with a straight right hand.
Peck throws a leg kick that is checked
and Peck takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like Gregory Peck has been cut.
McHughes moves out of range of the strikes.
Peck lands a right hook to the body.
Peck just misses with a punch to the body.
Peck misses with an uppercut. McHughes saw that one coming.
Peck misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McHughes.
McHughes is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Peck is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McHughes.
Peck drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
McHughes looks to land a left hand but Peck moved out of range nicely.
Peck misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McHughes takes a swing at Peck's ribcage but misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Peck moves forwards but McHughes connects with a nice, crisp jab.


Peck is rocked!
Peck throws a big shot that misses.
Peck is still on wobbly legs! Can McHughes finish him?
Peck just misses with a punch to the body.
Gregory Peck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McHughes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Peck stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Peck looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McHughes drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Peck's head, knocking him out cold! McHughes is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nigel McHughes!
Nigel McHughes tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
