Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anthony McParland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rob Coogan!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coogan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
McParland is looking to reverse the position.
You can see the frustration on McParland's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

McParland wants to control but Coogan is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Some wild striking there from McParland.
Coogan changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
McParland rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Coogan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

McParland gets tackled into the cage by Coogan. Coogan maintains the clinch.

Coogan wants to lay and pray for a moment but McParland keeps working.

Coogan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Coogan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McParland's head.

McParland is trying to stand up here but Coogan is controlling him well.
McParland won't allow Coogan to pass to mount.
Coogan is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Coogan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McParland checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
McParland looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Coogan gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Coogan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

McParland gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Coogan.

Coogan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McParland is trying to defend but Coogan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Coogan passes McParland's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
McParland tries to get to full guard but Coogan has control of the leg.
The fighters are battling for position here. McParland manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

We're going to have a standup here because Anthony McParland wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A jab lands there for Coogan.
McParland throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rob Coogan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Coogan wants to control from the top but McParland keeps moving.

Coogan moves nicely into side control.

Coogan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Coogan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Coogan is looking to take a break and control but McParland is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McParland tries to improve position but can't.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rob Coogan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Coogan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
