Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deshawn Wallace! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rain Hanzo! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanzo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Wallace throws a front kick aimed at Hanzo's knee but Hanzo avoids it well. Hanzo throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Deshawn Wallace has been cut. Wallace tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hanzo was well out of range. Poor timing from Wallace. Wallace gets the takedown into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wallace trying to control the position but Hanzo is working away. You can see the frustration on Hanzo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Wallace throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Hanzo on the wrong end of some ground and pound. The strikes coming from Wallace are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Wallace content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Hanzo on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hanzo dodges the ground and pound from Wallace. Wallace throws an elbow but Hanzo slips to the side and avoids it well. Wallace has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wallace in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Hanzo wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Wallace cracks Hanzo with a big elbow. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wallace wants to control but Hanzo is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wallace taking a breather here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Check out the look on Wallace's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
A big shot lands for Wallace! That's hurt Hanzo! Will he recover? Wallace fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
