Lomax ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Machida moves away.
Machida avoids the head kick by Lomax.
Machida scores with a jab to the body.
Machida misses with a looping left.
Lomax pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Lomax scores with a hook to the body. Machida takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Machida throws a hook but Lomax avoids it easily.
Lomax fails with an attempt to clinch.
Machida goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Machida swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lomax counters with a low kick, right behind Machida 's knee.
Machida tries to clinch up.
Machida throws a solid leg kick but Lomax takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Machida.

Lomax moves out of range of the strikes.
Lomax will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Machida works over Lomax's head and body with a nice combination.
Machida thumps Lomax with a low kick.
Machida throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Machida clobbers Lomax with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Lomax scores with a nice strike.
Machida misses with a head kick.
Lomax thumps Machida with a low kick.
Machida looks for the body kick but Lomax saw that one coming.
Lomax attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Lomax tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A telegraphed right hand from Lomax misses the target.
Lomax wants to slow Machida down by chopping away at his legs.
Some wild striking there from Machida.
A bone on bone clash there as Machida blocks the leg kick.
Machida bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Machida misses with a straight right.
Machida swings for the body but Lomax moves out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lomax walks into a left hand.
A telegraphed right hand from Machida misses the target.
Machida throws a wild hook but Lomax just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Machida gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Lomax raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Clint Lomax! Clint Lomax retains his featherweight title!
