Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vitor Belfort!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Grandmaster Red!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort fails with a takedown attempt.
Belfort takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A jab from Red does it's job there.
Belfort tries to score a power double leg takedown but Red sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Belfort somewhat.
Red misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Belfort shoots in looking for a takedown but Red manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Belfort's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitor Belfort. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Belfort shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Red sprawls well. Red wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Belfort gets slowly back to his feet.
Red is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Belfort takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Red pulls Belfort in close to prevent any damage.

Belfort drops back, looking for a kneebar! Red looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Red looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Red!

Red decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Red is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Belfort had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Belfort shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Belfort was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Red is in all sorts of trouble here.
Red wants to hold on but Belfort pushes him away.

Belfort jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Red manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Belfort working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Red tries to bench press Belfort off him but Belfort keeps the position.

A close round but Grandmaster Red will probably get the nod.
That's time! Belfort's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Belfort shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Red is trying to defend but Belfort finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Red tries to kick Belfort off but Belfort keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Red really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Belfort. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Red regains full guard. Nicely done.

Red pushes Belfort off and gets back to his feet.

Red tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Belfort drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Red manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Belfort has Red in his guard.
Red tries to stand but Belfort is controlling from the bottom.

Red has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Belfort to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Red is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Belfort pulls down on the head and he's put Red to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Vitor Belfort!
An out of breath Vitor Belfort thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
