Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jens Wankerzich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Haminall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haminall has chosen The Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkle as his entrance music. Matt Haminall will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matt Haminall!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haminall closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wankerzich circles away.

Haminall dives in and scores a takedown into Wankerzich's guard.
Haminall is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that Haminall has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Wankerzich wants to get back to his feet but Haminall is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Haminall is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Haminall fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wankerzich avoids it really well and circles away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wankerzich scores with a sloppy right hand. Haminall should have avoided that one.
Wankerzich throws a sloppy head kick and Haminall moves out of range easily.
Haminall shoots in looking for a takedown. Wankerzich tries to sprawl out of it but Haminall keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wankerzich manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Haminall shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
