Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ned Alonso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Davis! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alonso doesn't succeed with the takedown and Davis counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Davis. Alonso wants to sweep here but Davis controlling him for the moment. Alonso on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Alonso tries to get out of the position. Alonso trying to control the position here. Davis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We're going to have a standup here because Ned Alonso wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Davis takes the fight into the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Come on Davis - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Alonso tries to score a body lock takedown but Davis shows good agility there to stay on his feet. A nice right hand lands inside from Davis. Davis lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Davis is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Davis lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Davis pushes Alonso back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Davis's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Randy Davis. Alonso closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Davis did well to prevent Alonso getting side control. Alonso is figuring out what he wants to do next. Alonso not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Davis is looking to get back to is feet but Alonso passes into side control.

Davis takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Davis tries to get back to half guard but can't. Alonso cracks Davis with a big elbow. Alonso throwing strikes but missing, from side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A close round but Randy Davis will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Ned Alonso's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Davis takes a swing at Alonso's ribcage but misses. Alonso gets the takedown into side control. The strikes coming from Alonso are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Alonso staying calm. Davis taking punishment in the form of punches.

Alonso has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Davis! Alonso punishing his opponent with strikes. Alonso landing punches. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alonso throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Davis holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Alonso tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alonso is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Davis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Davis takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Alonso unloads with some shots from mount but Davis bucks and avoids them well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alonso looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Davis tries to hold on but Alonso postures up. Alonso throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Alonso looking to control but Davis is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Alonso has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Alonso fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Alonso cracks Davis with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Alonso working away from the top, dropping strikes. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alonso lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Ned Alonso dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Ned Alonso's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Davis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Davis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alonso. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Alonso is looking to get to half guard. Alonso manages to regain half guard. Good work. Alonso moves into full guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Alonso misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis is not content to let Alonso control the position. Alonso throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Alonso wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davis keeps working. Davis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alonso wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Alonso cracks Davis with a big elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alonso with the ground and pound but Davis regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Alonso missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Davis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Alonso. Alonso is working for a kimura but Davis is defending it quite comfortably.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Alonso wants to control but Davis is keeping him busy. Alonso lands with a punch from half guard. Davis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Alonso. Alonso drops an elbow to the side of Davis's head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
