Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Qinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Polhamus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Qinton Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dean Polhamus! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polhamus scores with a leg kick.
Polhamus misses with a two punch combination.
Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Polhamus pinned against the cage. Polhamus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Polhamus tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Polhamus somewhat. Jackson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Polhamus circles away quickly and effectively. Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Polhamus as he jumps to the side. Jackson swats away the attempt to clinch by Polhamus. Polhamus fails with the takedown. Polhamus tries for a takedown but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Qinton Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Polhamus.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson moves out of range of the body kick from Polhamus.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Polhamus enables Jackson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Polhamus manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Jackson content to stall in guard here. Polhamus trying to control the position.
Polhamus has a closed guard, preventing Jackson from standing up. Jackson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We're going to have a standup here because Qinton Jackson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. A looping hook to the body misses from Polhamus. Jackson does a little dance to reset his feet. Some wild striking there from Polhamus.
Polhamus lands with a kick to the temple. Jackson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Polhamus looks gassed! Jackson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Polhamus is looking to clinch. Polhamus moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off. Jackson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Polhamus tries for a takedown but Jackson circles away easily and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jackson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Polhamus sees it coming and defends easily. Polhamus wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Jackson scores with a takedown into Polhamus's guard. Jackson content to stall in guard here. Jackson with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson throws a big right hand that misses. Jackson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Polhamus is retaining full guard. Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Polhamus on the ground.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Qinton Jackson. Jackson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jackson lands in his opponent's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jackson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Qinton Jackson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Jackson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Jackson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Polhamus is breathing heavily. Jackson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Polhamus is trying to stand up here but Jackson is controlling him well. Polhamus is trying to control but can't.
Jackson is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Jackson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson advances position into side control! Polhamus takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Jackson takes a little break here. Polhamus wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Sloppy strikes there by Jackson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson decides to stand back up. Jackson steps back and let's Polhamus get back to his feet. Jackson lands with a nice combination. Polhamus backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Dean Polhamus has been cut. Jackson scoring well with a low kick there.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Polhamus sprawls well. Polhamus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Qinton Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson clinches up against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Jackson. Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jackson throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Qinton Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jackson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Polhamus was covering up waiting for the punch and Jackson finishes the takedown easily into guard. Jackson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jackson works a leg free and moves into half guard. Jackson wants to pass the guard but Polhamus is defending well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jackson uses his free foot to push down on Polhamus's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Polhamus. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Qinton Jackson dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Dean Polhamus's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Jackson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Jackson is thwarting Polhamus's attempts to control the position. Jackson controlling the action here. Polhamus is looking for a sweep. Jackson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Polhamus takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Polhamus blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jackson. Jackson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Polhamus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side. Jackson lands a front kick. Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Polhamus's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Jackson controlling the position easily from mount. Polhamus tries to hold on but Jackson pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson content just to control the position here. Jackson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Polhamus for as long as he can get away with. Qinton Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jackson looking for a guillotine from mount but Polhamus is having none of it. Polhamus is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Polhamus really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Polhamus is desperately trying to improve his position but Jackson has a good base and remains in mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Qinton Jackson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jackson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
