Alessio drives through with a takedown into Smith's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Smith throws his legs up looking for a submission but Alessio uses it to pass to side control.
Alessio knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.
Smith tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alessio wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Alessio controls the position.
Smith is looking for a sweep.
Alessio stands up and beckons Smith to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith wants to sweep here but Alessio controlling him for the moment.
Alessio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.
