Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Jass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Decimus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jass comes to the cage accompanied by Bad Moon Rising. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hugh Jass! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Decimus! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jass stuffs the takedown attempt from Decimus. Decimus gets slowly back to his feet. Decimus looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Decimus misses with a takedown attempt - Jass sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hugh Jass has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Decimus. Decimus shoots in for a takedown but Jass shows good takedown defense. Decimus decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Decimus looks gassed! Jass is positioning himself well to prevent Decimus advancing to mount. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Decimus thows a huge punch but Jass dodges it nicely.
Jass is looking for a sweep. Decimus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Decimus missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Jass is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jass controlling the position well. Decimus throwing shots but Jass is blocking nicely.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jass closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Decimus to the mat! Decimus manages to get full guard. Jass sitting in guard, not really doing much. Jass could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Decimus strikes from his own guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Decimus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jass is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there. Decimus keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom. Decimus tries to land a sweep but no joy. Decimus throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Decimus pulls Jass in close to prevent any damage. Decimus keeping moving, preventing Jass from controlling successfully. Decimus wants to sweep here but Jass controlling him for the moment. Decimus throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Decimus looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jass is one step ahead there.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Decimus looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jass bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Jass wants to lay and pray for a moment but Decimus keeps working. Decimus seems a little lost for a moment, as Jass dominates the positioning. Jass's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Hugh Jass just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Jass will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jass looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Decimus looking to control.
Jass stays in close to Decimus's body and controls the position. Jass stopping the sweep attempt from Decimus. Jass has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jass looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Decimus looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jass is one step ahead there. Decimus throwing short punches from the bottom.

Decimus manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Jass is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. A nice elbow there by Decimus. The referee warns Jass that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Decimus cracks Jass with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Decimus lands a heavy elbow. Jass is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Decimus looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. A nice elbow there by Decimus.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Decimus lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jass is looking to get to half guard. Decimus landing punches. Jass tries to reverse the position but Decimus maintains control. Decimus postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jass looks a forlorn figure.
Jass is rocked! Decimus dominating with strikes here. Oh Jass is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Decimus postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Jass in real trouble here! The ref calls for Jass to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dave Decimus!
