Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Demon Beast! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Desmond Claymore! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Claymore shoots in but Beast avoids the takedown attempt easily. Claymore takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Beast digs a good hook to Claymore's body.
Claymore fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Beast avoids it really well and circles away. Beast scores with a body shot.
Beast closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Beast keeps control of Claymore as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Beast lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
It looks like Desmond Claymore has been cut. Claymore goes for a takedown in the clinch but Beast prevents it.
Demon Beast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Desmond Claymore. Beast lands an elbow inside that Claymore shrugs off. Beast lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Beast lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Beast creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Claymore's defenses. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Claymore tries for a takedown but Beast manages to get underhooks.
Claymore can't get the takedown.
Beast tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Claymore is working for takedown but Beast is calmly controlling the position for now. Beast lands a good knee to the midsection. Claymore won't want to take too many of those. Claymore looks gassed! Beast comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice glancing elbow lands by Beast. Beast using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Beast is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Beast gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Claymore is rocked! Beast using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Beast lands an elbow that stopped Claymore in his tracks for a moment. Claymore is still on wobbly legs! Can Beast finish him?
That has opened up Desmond Claymore's cut even more. Beast has Claymore pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Claymore is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Beast - that's hurt Claymore badly! Oh, another knee lands and Claymore is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Claymore doesn't seem to be complaining.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Demon Beast! Demon Beast retains his lightweight title!
