Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jenwyn Browne! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Agapito Hampaslupa! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hampaslupa connects with a body shot that sends Browne's belly button to the back. Hampaslupa is looking to slow Browne down with leg kicks. Hampaslupa keeps the fight on the outside. Hampaslupa lands with a nice body kick. Browne is breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hampaslupa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nice body kick there by Hampaslupa. Hampaslupa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nice shot by Hampaslupa.
It looks like Jenwyn Browne has been cut. A solid body kick from Hampaslupa. Hampaslupa fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hampaslupa cracks the inside of Browne's front leg. Hampaslupa throws a head kick but Browne moves out of range.
Hampaslupa shoots in but no luck this time. Hampaslupa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Some wild striking there from Hampaslupa.

Hampaslupa lands a body punch. A knee to the head by Hampaslupa.
Hampaslupa successfully pulls guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Browne accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hampaslupa not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Browne makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hampaslupa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Browne doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Browne manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hampaslupa working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hampaslupa has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Browne has passed into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Browne is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hampaslupa will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. You can see the frustration on Hampaslupa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Browne in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Hampaslupa is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Browne in side control lands a decent elbow. Browne misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Hampaslupa is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Browne tries for a kimura but Hampaslupa is defending well. Browne is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hampaslupa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hampaslupa is looking to regain half guard here but Browne keeps moving and retains side control. Hampaslupa wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hampaslupa avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Browne. Hampaslupa tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Agapito Hampaslupa dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jenwyn Browne's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Browne tries to clinch up. Browne has taken the fight to the clinch.
Browne has clasped his hands together around Hampaslupa's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Browne cracks Hampaslupa with an elbow. That is naaassty. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hampaslupa is pushing Browne's head away, looking to escape. Browne manages to hold on to the position though. Browne tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Browne has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Browne lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hampaslupa down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Browne landing a few strikes. Browne trying to control the position but Hampaslupa is working away. Hampaslupa tries to improve position but can't. Browne is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Browne working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Browne has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hampaslupa is pushing Browne's head away, looking to escape. Browne manages to hold on to the position though. Jenwyn Browne overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Browne postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Hampaslupa tries to buck Browne off but Browne is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hampaslupa is trying to escape the position but Browne is controlling the position. Browne lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hampaslupa down.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hampaslupa parries the strikes from Browne easily there. Browne is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hampaslupa to escape.
Browne wants to control but Hampaslupa is keeping him busy. Hampaslupa tries to get back to half guard but can't. Browne working the head and body with strikes. Hampaslupa being controlled for a moment. Browne working the ground and pound from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hampaslupa is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Browne is controlling him well. Browne works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Hampaslupa dodges the ground and pound from Browne. Browne is putting a hurting on Hampaslupa here, landing some big shots from side control. Browne lands a strong strike to the head of Hampaslupa. That's dazed him! Browne looking to finish here. Hampaslupa is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Browne lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
