The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellimaki avoids the body shot from Karlson.
Karlson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Ellimaki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Karlson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ellimaki swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ellimaki defending well as Karlson loads up on a big left hand.
Nice takedown defense from Karlson. No joy for Ellimaki on that attempt.
Karlson misses with a double jab
and Ellimaki counters with a nice double leg into side control. Karlson won't be happy with that.
Ellimaki working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Ellimaki grinds an elbow into Karlson's temple.
Ellimaki is looking to take a break and control but Karlson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karlson is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Ellimaki is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Karlson is trying to escape and Ellimaki transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Karlson is forced to tap! Nice work there by Ellimaki! Very nice indeed!
