Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darius Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steel kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen. Darius Thomas acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Steel!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Darius Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel moves out of range of the strikes.
Steel drops his hands momentarily and Thomas takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Steel loads up on a big right hand but Thomas slips the punch.
Steel misses the shot to the body.
No joy there for Thomas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Steel connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.


It looks like Darius Thomas has been cut.
Steel feints and then cracks Thomas's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Thomas down.
Thomas misses with a jab, cross combination.
Steel feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Thomass jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
A lazy left from Steel finds it's target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Steel cracks a nice hook into Thomas's ribs.
Thomas throws a body punch but Steel moves out of range.
Steel looks to land a body kick but Thomas moved away.
A slapping body kick lands there for Steel.
The fighters circling - Thomas throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Thomas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Steel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Steel cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Thomas missing with a left hand there. Steel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Thomas jabs Steel right on the nose. Steel blinks but takes it well.
Steel throws the kick towards the body but Thomas avoids it.

Steel throws a lazy right hand but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Thomas moves into range and clinches up with Steel.
Steel misses with a body punch.
Steel prevents Thomas from breaking the clinch.
Steel lands with a short shot to the head.
Thomas looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Thomas prevents a body shot from Steel.
Thomas digs a right hand into Steel's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Steel's gas tank.
Steel can't find room to land a body shot as Thomas controls the action.
Steel prevents Thomas from breaking the clinch.

Steel moves forwards but Thomas connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Steel attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Thomas lands with an overhand left.
Thomas takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Thomas might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Steel works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Thomas walks into a straight right hand from Steel.
Thomas throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Steel jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Thomas throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

and Steel counters with a nice body kick.

Steel throws a jab but it's blocked by Thomas.
Steel dips to his left and cracks Thomas with an uppercut!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Thomas crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Steel - the referee stops the clock and Thomas gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Steel. Thomas manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Steel lands a nice shot that snaps Thomas's head back.
The fighters circle momentarily. Steel darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.


That has opened up Darius Thomas's cut even more.
Steel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Thomas chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Steel can pounce on him.
Steel lands with a right hand.
Thomas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Darius Thomas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Steel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Thomas manages to avoid it.

Thomas closes the distance and clinches.

Steel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Thomas has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Steel.

Steel paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Steel looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Max Steel is winning the standup battle so far.
Thomas sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Steel is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Thomas can do to turn this around?

The cut above Darius Thomas's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
A slapping leg kick lands for Steel.
Steel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


Thomas is rocked!
Steel thows a body shot but no joy.
Steel connects with a right hand. Thomas shakes it off.
Thomas is still on wobbly legs! Can Steel finish him?

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Thomas walks straight into a right hand from Steel - that's dropped him! Steel jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Thomas from any more punishment! Thomas complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Max Steel!
