The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bato takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Patched misses with an uppercut. Bato saw that one coming.
Bato misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Patched.
Bato scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Patched fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bato avoids the head kick by Patched.
Bato throws out a powerful jab.

It looks like Cabbage Patched has been cut.
Totoy Bato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Patched thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bato displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Patched throws out the jab.
Bato scores with a crisp jab that stopped Patched in his tracks.

Bato swings for the body but Patched moves out of range.
Patched lands a leg kick that knocks Bato off balance momentarily.
Patched throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Patched ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Bato takes a swing at Patched's ribcage but misses.
Bato fails to land with a series of punches.
Patched walks into a stiff left hand from Bato.

Patched decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bato is trying to get back to full guard.
Bato is staying active underneath Patched, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Patched is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Patched is keen to just control but Bato is a slippery customer.
Patched working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Patched uses his free foot to push down on Bato's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bato.
