Maier comes to the cage accompanied by Apaga mas não bate. Miller has chosen Ice Cube - Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It as his entrance music. Sepp Maier could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Marcus Miller's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Sepp Maier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Miller!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maier gets a double leg takedown into Miller's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Maier trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Miller manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Miller tries to stand but Maier is controlling from the bottom.
Maier bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Miller's guard.

Miller working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maier doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maier manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Miller is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Maier throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Miller's waist but Miller gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maier off to one side.

A looping hook to the body misses from Miller. Maier does a little dance to reset his feet.
Maier tries to score a power double leg takedown but Miller sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maier somewhat.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Miller tries to clinch but Maier moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Maier is defended easily by Miller.

and Miller counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Maier drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Maier postures up in Miller's guard and throws a big left but Miller blocks it.

Maier has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Maier is pushing down on Miller's leg trying to pass to half guard. Miller is fighting to maintain full guard but Maier has managed to sneak the leg through.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Maier shoots for a takedown but Miller saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Miller counters with a straight right hand.

Maier drives through and clinches with Miller against the cage.

Miller stalling in the clinch but Maier improves position.
Miller lands with a left to the head.
Miller lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Miller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Miller holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Maier wants to take the fight to the mat but Miller manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Miller throws a poor cross that misses

and Maier counters with a nice double leg into side control. Miller won't be happy with that.

Sepp Maier overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Maier tries to score with some ground and pound. Miller controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maier is trying to get an arm triangle but Miller is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Miller tries to escape but Maier is in control.

Maier is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Miller is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Maier tries for a kimura but Miller is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Miller is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Maier looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sepp Maier will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Maier closes the distance and clinches up with Miller, looking for a takedown. Maier pushes Miller against the cage but Miller circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Maier looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Miller!

Maier has control of Miller's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Miller regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Miller wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Miller keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Maier with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Maier goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Miller is on top in guard.

Maier escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Miller gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Miller wanted to stand there but Maier had control of the position.

Maier escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Miller gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Maier has a closed guard, preventing Miller from standing up.

Maier is looking for a triangle here but Miller uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I would just about give that final round to Marcus Miller.
I think Miller has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
