Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Warmaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerome Canete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Warmaster kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Deftones- welcome to the butcher. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Josh Warmaster! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jerome Canete! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Warmaster throws a series of punches but Canete moves out of range. Warmaster misses with the combination.
Warmaster fails with the takedown. Warmaster shoots in and drives through. Canete sprawls well. Warmaster lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Canete at a distance.
Warmaster lands with a straight right. Canete didn't see that one coming. Canete doesn't succeed with the takedown and Warmaster counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Warmaster fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Warmaster fails to land with a series of punches.
Canete shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Warmaster pinned against the ropes. Warmaster gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Canete shoots in for a takedown but Warmaster shows good takedown defense. Josh Warmaster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerome Canete. Canete doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Warmaster fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Canete looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Warmaster throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Canete will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Danga de danga de dang - Warmaster scores with a four punch combination! Canete on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Canete tries for a takedown but Warmaster circles away easily and Warmaster counters with a one-two to the body. Canete looks gassed! Nice body punch from Warmaster. Canete is trying desperately to land a takedown but Warmaster is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Canete. Warmaster lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Canete shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Canete dodges the punch combination from Warmaster.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jab by Warmaster. Nice takedown defense from Warmaster. No joy for Canete on that attempt. Warmaster shoots in and bounces Canete off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Warmaster trying to control the position from guard on top but Canete is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Warmaster is really struggling to control Canete but he's trying to hold on to the position. Warmaster loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Warmaster stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Canete swivels though and keeps the full guard. Canete controls Warmaster momentarily but Warmaster frees himself. Warmaster trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Canete can do anything to dispel that myth. Warmaster controlling from the top position. Warmaster has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jab from Warmaster. Warmaster throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Warmaster lands with a nice body punch. Warmaster shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Canete napping and manages to drive through into side control! Warmaster is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Canete looks calm but he's in trouble here. Warmaster gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Canete is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Warmaster lets go of the hold and Canete can pop his arm back in it's socket.
