Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chipped Shoulder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rory Jordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chipped Shoulder!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rory Jordan!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shoulder throws a sloppy head kick and Jordan moves out of range easily.
Jordan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jordan shoots in looking for a takedown. Shoulder tries to sprawl out of it but Jordan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shoulder manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jordan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Chipped Shoulder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rory Jordan.
Jordan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jordan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Jordan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jordan wants to free his trapped foot but Shoulder is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Shoulder is controlling Jordan's position as best he can from this difficult position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jordan looks to land a strike but Shoulder avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Shoulder working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jordan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jordan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shoulder looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jordan is one step ahead there.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Shoulder scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jordan to see if he's OK.

Jordan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Shoulder's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Shoulder's back!

Jordan tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Shoulder thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Jordan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shoulder can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jordan tries for a takedown but Shoulder sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jordan shoots in but Shoulder avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jordan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Shoulder avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jordan fails to land the takedown.
Jordan throws a lazy head kick

and Shoulder counters with a single leg into guard. Jordan didn't expect that.

Jordan has his foot on Shoulder's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shoulder works his way back into a safe position though.

Shoulder avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Shoulder stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jordan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jordan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jordan throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Shoulder makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chipped Shoulder dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jordan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shoulder stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Jordan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rory Jordan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jordan throws a body kick that misses.
Shoulder moves in looking to clinch but Jordan pushes him off.

Shoulder changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jordan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jordan is pushing Shoulder's head away, looking to escape. Shoulder manages to hold on to the position though.
Jordan is looking to reverse the position.
Jordan gets back to half guard.
Shoulder works his way into side control.

Shoulder is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jordan has escaped the position, nice work there.
You can see the frustration on Jordan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jordan tries to buck Shoulder off but Shoulder is having none of it.

Shoulder advances nicely into full mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

and Jordan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shoulder's guard.
Chipped Shoulder overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Shoulder wants to sweep here but Jordan controlling him for the moment.

Shoulder escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jordan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jordan wants to get up but he can't break Shoulder's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jordan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Oh but Shoulder is tightening it up a little... Jordan has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Jordan reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Jordan taps out! nice BJJ there by Shoulder!
