0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Alvarez! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alvarez shoots in but Carter Jr avoids the takedown attempt easily. Carter Jr tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Carter Jr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carter Jr wants it to stay on the feet. Alvarez leaves Carter Jr with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Carter Jr shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Carter Jr trying to control the pace. Alvarez controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Carter Jr works his way into full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter Jr has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Alvarez's face.

Carter Jr gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! A low kick from Carter Jr is predictable there and Alvarez makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Alvarez lands a head kick. Carter Jr smiles back at him and beckons him forward. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Carter Jr shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alvarez defends it nicely. Alvarez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Carter Jr stopping the sweep attempt from Alvarez. Alvarez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carter Jr manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter Jr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alvarez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Carter Jr is tightening it up a little... Alvarez has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Alvarez reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Alvarez taps out! Nice BJJ there by Carter Jr!
