Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Remo Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Remo Souza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson doesn't manage to clinch there - Souza circles away.
Souza rushes Jackson and presses him up against the cage.
Jackson wants the takedown. Souza is fighting it off but Jackson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Souza's guard against the cage.
Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Souza on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Souza tries to get out of the position.
Souza had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jackson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Souza Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jackson's back instead.
Jackson has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Souza cracks Jackson with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Jackson from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Souza throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Jackson!
Jackson wants to get back to his feet.

Souza is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Jackson up.

The referee is taking a good look at Jackson as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Souza!

Souza is trying to stick to Jackson's back but Jackson is turning into Souza. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Souza's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Jackson.

Souza controls Jackson momentarily but Jackson frees himself.
Jackson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Souza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground.

Souza bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Souza keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jackson's head.
Jackson uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Souza lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Jackson tries to bum rush Souza with a series of wild strikes but Souza uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jackson tries to clinch there but Souza circles away.
Jackson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Souza counters with a single leg into guard. Jackson didn't expect that.
Jackson manages to escape and get back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Jackson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Souza moves into the clinch successfully.
Souza digs a right hand underneath Jackson's ribcage. Jackson let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Souza wants to break free but Jackson has control.

Jackson pulls guard successfully.
Jackson wants to sweep here but Souza controlling him for the moment.

Jackson wants to get back to his feet but Souza is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Souza has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Souza lands a couple of decent looking shots.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
