Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conrad Mesko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rey Corrales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mesko might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Pain !. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Conrad Mesko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rey Corrales! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mesko drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Corrales tries to improve position but can't. You can see the frustration on Corrales's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Corrales is pushing Mesko's head away, looking to escape. Mesko manages to hold on to the position though. Corrales seems a little lost for a moment, as Mesko dominates the positioning. Mesko trying to control the action but Corrales is working from the bottom. Corrales is trying to control Mesko's posture but Mesko avoids it. Corrales is not content to let Mesko control the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Corrales shoots in for a double leg but Mesko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Corrales scores with a takedown into Mesko's guard. Mesko pushes Corrales off and scrambles back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mesko closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Corrales to the mat! Corrales manages to get full guard. Mesko working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Corrales looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mesko is one step ahead there. Mesko passes into half guard. Mesko is breathing heavily. Mesko is looking to take a break and control but Corrales is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mesko is looking to advance position but Corrales won't allow it. Corrales has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mesko is working away from the top position though. Mesko seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Corrales does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mesko lands a nice short elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mesko is looking for a kimura here.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mesko wants to control but Corrales is keeping him busy. Mesko is nestled in close to Corrales, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Mesko passes to side control. Mesko has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Corrales!

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mesko moves to back control. Mesko is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Corrales is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. You can see the frustration on Corrales's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Corrales is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Corrales surviving as best he can, preventing damage. Corrales trying to control the hands but Mesko won't let him. Mesko is trying to stick to Corrales's back but Corrales is turning into Mesko. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Mesko's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Corrales. Corrales looking to pass the guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Corrales tries for a takedown but Mesko circles away easily and Mesko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mesko is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight!
