The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Understand tries to clinch
and Ryrik holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Understand should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Ryrik manages to break the clinch.
Ryrik misses with a double jab.
No joy there for Understand, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Understand moves to clinch but Ryrik breaks away
and Ryrik counters by moving into the clinch.

Ryrik shoots in and gets a takedown into Understand's guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Understand has eaten all the pies!
Ryrik trying to control but Understand is working from the bottom.
Understand is trying to keep Ryrik in close.
Understand is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ryrik is looking to stand up but Understand won't let him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ryrik working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Ryrik avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ryrik knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Understand on the ground.

Understand looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Understand working for a triangle but Ryrik defends it easily.

Ryrik gets to his feet. Understand looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Understand throws a right and a left that Ryrik avoids nicely.
Ryrik changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Understand looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ryrik tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Ryrik is looking to take a break and control but Understand is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Understand gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Understand gets back to full guard.
Understand had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ryrik defends it easily.
Understand has a closed guard, preventing Ryrik from standing up.
Ryrik trying to control but Understand is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Understand is on top in guard.
Understand wants to control from the top but Ryrik keeps moving.

Understand wants to pass the guard but Ryrik is keeping the position.
Ryrik looking to hit a scissor sweep but Understand is one step ahead there.
Understand is looking to stand up but Ryrik won't let him.

Understand postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ryrik is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Understand, into his guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Understand misses with a body kick.
Nice straight punches there by Understand. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Understand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ryrik gets a takedown into half guard.
Understand wants to control but Ryrik is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Ryrik feints and as Understand raises his hands in defense, Ryrik changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ryrik would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Understand is working an open guard so Ryrik takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Ryrik gets a clinch.
Understand can't break the clinch.
Understand wants to break free but Ryrik has control.
Ryrik has Understand pushed against the ropes.
Ryrik's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sergey Ryrik is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ryrik goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Understand tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Ryrik paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Ryrik decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Understand's guard.
Ryrik lands a couple of elbows.
Understand is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Understand has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ryrik should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Understand has tightened it up now! Ryrik should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
