The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
En tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Putin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
En feints and as Putin raises his hands in defense, En changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
En is looking to work some ground and pound but Putin has wrist control.
En throwing strikes from guard but Putin blocks nicely.
En wants to control from the top but Putin keeps moving.
En pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Putin is keeping the position for now.
En stops Putin from standing up.
En trying to control the position from guard on top but Putin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
En postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ylo En was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Putin shoots in for a takedown but En shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Putin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
En lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Putin backs up against the cage.
It looks like Satnam Putin has been cut.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
En prevents Putin from getting back to his feet.

Ylo En has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
En looks to land a combination. Putin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
En shoots in and drives through. Putin sprawls well.

The fight stays on the outside here - Putin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Putin leaves En with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Putin shoots in looking for a takedown. En tries to sprawl out of it but Putin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. En manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
En will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
En throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Putin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Putin is trying to keep En in close.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
En shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

En avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Putin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? En is fending him off so far but Putin persists. Nope, En circles away and we're back to standing.
En changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Putin tries to avoid it but En manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Putin to the ground. Putin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
En shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Putin's guard.
