PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sid Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Castle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor comes to the cage accompanied by Bodies. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sid Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Castle!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castle pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Taylor tries to clinch there but Castle circles away.
Jab, jab by Taylor - just one landing.


It looks like Frank Castle has been cut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Castle. Taylor does a little dance to reset his feet.
Taylor displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Castle throws out the jab.

Taylor gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Taylor lands a head kick!

Taylor throws a low kick but Castle avoids it.
Castle scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Taylor takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Castle throws a jab but it's blocked by Taylor.
Castle misses with an uppercut.
Castle displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Taylor throws out the jab.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Taylor drags the fight down to the ground.
Taylor wants to sweep here but Castle controlling him for the moment.
Castle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Castle wants to stand but Taylor is controlling his posture from full guard.

Taylor manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Taylor is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Castle can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Taylor is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Castle can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Castle bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Taylor controls Castle momentarily but Castle frees himself.
Castle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Castle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Taylor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Castle has managed to get both his arms back between Taylor's legs - danger averted.

Castle slips nicely into half guard.
Castle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Taylor keeps working.
Taylor makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Taylor.

Taylor is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Castle defends well.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sid Taylor dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Castle takes a swing at Taylor's ribcage but misses.
Castle connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Taylor's hands.
Castle throws the left hand but Taylor avoids the punch easily.
Castle keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Castle takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Castle throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Taylor sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Frank Castle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taylor ducks under a wild hook from Castle.
Taylor scores with a crisp jab that stopped Castle in his tracks.
Castle scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Taylor uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Castle.
Castle lands with a nice body punch.
Castle jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Taylor dives in and grabs Castle's left leg, looking for a takedown. Castle pushes down on Taylor's head and hops out.

Castle looks to land a right hand but Taylor moved out of range.
Taylor is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Taylor is looking to clinch but Castle is avoiding it.
Frank Castle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Taylor slips a jab and a cross from Castle.
Taylor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Castle tries to avoid it but Taylor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Castle to the ground. Castle escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Frank Castle seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Castle connects with a jab.


Taylor is rocked!
Castle checks a low kick from Taylor.
Taylor uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Castle.
Taylor looks up at the clock. Bad move! Castle lands a right hand from hell, dropping Taylor. Castle pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Castle!
