Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oleg Molotov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shane Carwin! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Molotov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Carwin moves out of range of the body kick. Carwin keeps the fight on the outside. Carwin avoids a kick to the body.
Molotov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Molotov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Carwin blocks the body kick.
Molotov tries to clinch up. Molotov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Carwin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Molotov. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oleg Molotov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Shane Carwin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Molotov misses with a takedown attempt and Carwin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Carwin. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Carwin showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Molotov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Carwin is aware though and is defending well. Molotov is breathing heavily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carwin passes Molotov's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Molotov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Carwin controlling the action here. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carwin in particular looking to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Carwin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Molotov trying to control from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Carwin shoots in looking for a takedown but Molotov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carwin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Molotov fails to land the takedown. Carwin stuffs the takedown. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Molotov tries to clinch and Carwin counters with a takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Carwin working the body and head with strikes. Carwin in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Carwin remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Carwin scores with punches from side control. Carwin controls the position. Carwin creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Carwin lands a nice forearm strike. Molotov tries to get back to half guard but can't. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Carwin takes a little break here. Molotov wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Let's hope that Carwin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carwin connects with a nice short shot to Molotov's temple. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Carwin is nestled in close to Molotov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Carwin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
