Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between BeeJay Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Yankowy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yankowy has chosen 1000 Flamen as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jon Yankowy was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn misses with a double jab.
Yankowy shoots and misses
and Penn counters with a left to the body.
Penn throws a looping overhand right but Yankowy ducks down to avoid it.
Yankowy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Penn swivels and escapes.
Penn misses with a straight left.
Yankowy fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Yankowy with a poor takedown
and Penn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Jon Yankowy has been cut.
BeeJay Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Yankowy.
Yankowy tries a head kick but it misses.
Penn looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

and Penn counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yankowy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Penn avoids it really well and circles away.
Penn finds Yankowy's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Yankowy flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Penn lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Yankowy will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). BeeJay Penn!
