Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Jamal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Timler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Al Jamal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Timler! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jamal shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Jamal slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Jamal seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Timler for as long as he can get away with. Timler manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Timler tries to close the distance and clinch but Jamal swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jamal throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Timler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jamal manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A looping hook to the body misses from Jamal. Timler does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Timler rushes Jamal and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jamal has Timler pressed against the cage.
Jamal takes a knee right on the jaw!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jamal breaks from the clinch.
Jamal circles away from the clinch attempt and Timler takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jamal shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Timler manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Jamal is looking to stand up but Timler won't let him. Jamal trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Timler is working an open guard so Jamal takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Jamal forces Timler back against the cage and clinches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jamal tries to circle away but Timler has him pinned against the cage. Jamal tightens his grip and picks Timler up, before dumping him to the ground. Timler manages to land in guard. Jamal slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Jamal missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Al Jamal has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Jamal throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Timler was covering up waiting for the punch and Jamal finishes the takedown easily into guard. Jamal slips nicely into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jamal looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Al Jamal dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Jamal shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Timler manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Jamal stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Timler swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jamal's corner is telling him to maintain position. Jamal wants to stand and escape but instead Timler has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jamal wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Al Jamal just wasn't active enough. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jamal. Timler defending against the ground and pound. Timler is breathing heavily. Jamal decides to stand back up. Jamal steps back and let's Timler get back to his feet. Timler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jamal shoots in and gets a takedown into Timler's guard. Jamal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Al Jamal wasn't doing enough on the ground. Jamal feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jamal wants to stand but Timler has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Jamal thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Jamal has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jamal trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jamal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Al Jamal wasn't doing enough on the ground. Jamal scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Jamal is figuring out what he wants to do next. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Al Jamal. Jamal shoots in and gets a takedown into Timler's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Timler is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jamal is controlling him. Jamal stands and throws Timler's legs to the side, diving into side control. Jamal tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jamal has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Al Jamal dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Jamal lands the left hand. Timler tries to clinch up but Jamal circles away and keeps his distance. Timler tries to clinch but Jamal moves away and Jamal counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Timler! Jamal controlling his opponent. Jamal scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Timler takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jamal sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Al Jamal just wasn't active enough. Timler tries to clinch up. Jamal is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Timler can do to turn this around?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jamal gets in close and instigates a clinch. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Timler tries to land a knee to the head but Jamal blocks with his arms.

Jamal jumps guard and drags Timler to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Jamal working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Timler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Timler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Timler is looking to stand up but Jamal won't let him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jamal trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Timler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jamal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Timler has managed to get both his arms back between Jamal's legs - danger averted. Jamal is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Timler rolls with it to try and escape but Jamal cranks on the arm and Timler is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
