Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robert Aata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crafty Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Aata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Crafty Dog!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog tries to bum rush Aata with a series of wild strikes but Aata uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dog throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Aata has managed to clinch.
Dog is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Aata leaning his opponent against the cage.
Aata is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Aata gets underhooks to prevent Dog's takedown attempt.
Aata drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Aata wants a takedown but no success here.

Dog tries to circle away but Aata has him pinned against the cage.
Aata changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dog fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Aata tries a knee to the head but Dog blocks it.
Dog prevents a takedown attempt there.

Aata drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Aata gets a trip takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dog wants to get back to his feet.

Aata looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Aata wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dog keeps working.
Dog is trying to stand.

Aata thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dog's head.
Dog pushes Aata off looking to stand but Aata dives back in and keeps control.

Aata wants to work for an arm triangle but Dog is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Aata prevents Dog from standing back up.
Dog is staying active underneath Aata, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Aata seems to be looking for submissions.
Dog is trying to stand.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Aata lands a nice short elbow.
Dog pushes Aata off looking to stand but Aata dives back in and keeps control.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Aata is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dog is just riding it out for now. Aata eventually gives up the hold.

Dog must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Dog got a little sloppy there for a moment and Aata has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dog has managed to get both his arms back between Aata's legs - danger averted.

Dog lands with a hook. Aata tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Dog takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A left and a right from Dog both land. Nice combination.
Aata avoids a punch combination nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Aata is defended easily by Dog.
Dog thows a body shot but no joy.
Aata gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Dog.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Crafty Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dog lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dog cracks Aata with an open hand slap.


Aata is rocked!
Dog grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Aata takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Dog cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Crafty Dog!
