The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuntz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kuntz is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kuntz misses with a looping right.
Evans lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Kuntz blocks the body kick.
Evans listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Evans misses with a body kick.
Evans ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kuntz moves away.
Kuntz misses with an attempted mid kick.
Evans attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Evans scores with a sloppy right hand. Kuntz should have avoided that one.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kuntz, as that shot connected.

Kuntz has closed the distance and engaged Evans in a clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kuntz creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kuntz.
Kuntz stops a takedown attempt from Evans.
A head punch on the inside from Evans fails to land.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Evans breaks from the clinch.
A solid leg kick lands there for Kuntz.
Kuntz throws a nice outside leg kick.
Kuntz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kuntz's jab looks to have found its range, popping Evans under the eye.
Kuntz lands a head shot.
Evans just misses with a punch to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kuntz moves out of range of the strikes.
Kuntz scores with a jab to the jaw.
Kuntz looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Evans feints and then cracks Kuntz's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kuntz down.
Kuntz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Evans fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kuntz is out of range.
Evans ducks under a wild hook from Kuntz.
Evans tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kuntz was well out of range. Poor timing from Evans.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Evans misses with an uppercut. Kuntz saw that one coming.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kuntz!
Kuntz lands a really nice looking cross but Evans seems unphased.
Kuntz connects with a jab.
Evans throws a body kick the misses

and Kuntz counters with a crisp one two that drops Evans! Kuntz thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Evans to his feet! Evans is in big trouble!


Evans is rocked!
A head kick by Kuntz - that's a beauty! Evans is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Kuntz can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Rusty Kuntz! Rusty Kuntz retains his heavyweight title!
A very excited looking Rusty Kuntz made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
