Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Snegov misses with an uppercut. Maia saw that one coming.
Snegov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Maia throws a shot to the body.
Maia fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Snegov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Snegov thows a body shot but no joy.
Maia takes a swing at Snegov's ribcage but misses.
Snegov moves out of range as Maia strikes.

It looks like Konstantin Snegov has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Snegov moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Snegov is rocked!
Maia swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Snegov is still on wobbly legs! Can Maia finish him?
Snegov fails with a takedown attempt.
Maia punishes Snegov's body with a nice straight punch.
Snegov seems to have recovered his senses.
Snegov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Maia connects with a single shot there.
Maia stuns Snegov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Snegov looks gassed!

Maia tests Snegov's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Maia scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Snegov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Snegov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maia pinned against the ropes. Maia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Snegov walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Maia throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Snegov on the side of the head.

Maia uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Snegov.
Maia ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Oooooh!!! Maia has knocked Snegov down with a huge combo! Maia steps away and waves a wobbly Snegov back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

This has been an exciting period of action!

Maia lands a slapping body shot.
Maia takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Maia comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Snegov misses with a looping left.
Snegov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A nice combination there by Maia.
Maia walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Snegov drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Maia swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Snegov's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Damien Maia!
