Williams comes to the ring accompanied by Contracts - Hitman Theme. Phoenix has chosen Roy Jones Jr - Can't be touched as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brent Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Phoenix!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams drops Phoenix with a left and a right! Oh, Phoenix is hurt - Williams dives into side control looking to finish!


Phoenix is rocked!


It looks like Paul Phoenix has been cut.
Phoenix is looking to reverse the position.
Phoenix is still in real trouble! Can Williams finish him?

Williams tries for a kimura but Phoenix is defending well.

Williams is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Phoenix has escaped the position, nice work there.
Williams tries to advance to mount but can't.
Phoenix seems to have recovered his senses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Phoenix manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Phoenix wants to get back to full guard.
Williams frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Williams takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Williams seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Phoenix for as long as he can get away with.

Williams is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Phoenix has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Phoenix!

Williams wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Phoenix is now in half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Williams wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Williams wants to control the action here but instead Phoenix manages to pass to full mount!
Phoenix can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Williams is looking to escape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Williams really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Phoenix controlling from the full mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Williams is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brent Williams dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Paul Phoenix's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Williams looks to land a combination but Phoenix avoids it well.

Williams shoots in and bounces Phoenix off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Phoenix is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Phoenix trying to keep a closed guard but Williams is proving a slippery customer.

Williams trying to control but Phoenix is working from the bottom.
Williams trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Williams is working hard here to advance position.

Phoenix has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Williams should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Phoenix has tightened it up now! Williams should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
