Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Rosholt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Smith! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing. Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rosholt. Rosholt fails with a takedown attempt. Smith throws a series of punches but Rosholt moves out of range. Rosholt closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Rosholt pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Rosholt. That's going to take a lot out of him. A punch lands to the side of Rosholt 's head but he takes it in his stride. Rosholt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rosholt off to one side. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rosholt fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Smith comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Rosholt is breathing heavily. Rosholt shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith with a nice cross. Smith comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Smith digs a good hook to Rosholt's body.
Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing. Smith throws a series of punches but Rosholt avoids them all with ease. Smith tries to bum rush Rosholt with a series of wild strikes but Rosholt uses good footwork to avoid the assault. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Smith duly obliges. Rosholt takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Smith lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rosholt is rocked! Smith is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Rosholt rather than just go for the knockout. Smith cracks Rosholt on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Rosholt falls backwards against the cage. Smith follows up with more strikes that drop Rosholt to his knees. Smith keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Rosholt! This one is all over!
