The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Mir, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wentworth looks to land a right hand but Mir moved out of range.
A combination from Wentworth does no damage.
A big right from Wentworth misses.
Wentworth throws out a loose jab but Mir uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mir on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Wentworth misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mir.
Mir shoots for a double leg takedown but Wentworth sprawls well. He's pushed Mir's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wentworth swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mir is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wentworth's half guard.

Mir is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wentworth knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mir remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
