The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jiminez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bova.
Bova shoots in but no luck this time.
Bova moves out of range of the strikes.
Bova misses with a takedown
letting Jiminez counter with a right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brennan Bova. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jiminez throws a body punch but Bova moves out of range.
Jiminez lands a nice hook to Bova's body. Bova takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bova tries for a takedown but Jiminez circles away easily
and Jiminez counters with an outside leg kick.
Bova is breathing heavily.
Jiminez lands with a straight right. Bova didn't see that one coming.
It looks like Brennan Bova has been cut.
Jiminez drops Bova with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bova looks back up at him and smiles so Jiminez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Bova is rocked!
Jiminez feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Bova sprawling to the canvas! Bova rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Jiminez finish him?!
Oh Bova is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bova ducks into an uppercut from Jiminez and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hector Jiminez!
A relieved looking Hector Jiminez thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
