Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Agung Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daizo Shimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shimura is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Two Steps From Hell - Archangel. Daizo Shimura is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daizo Shimura! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kang uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shimura. Excellent takedown into side control there by Kang. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Kang throws a strike aimed at the side of Shimura's head but Shimura avoids it well. Kang taking a breather here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kang tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Shimura is looking to reverse the position. A lull in the action here as Kang stalls from top position. Shimura struggling a bit here. Kang staying calm.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kang working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Shimura is being controlled here. You can see the frustration on Shimura's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kang thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Kang lands some shots froms side control.
It looks like Daizo Shimura has been cut. Kang wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shimura, who protects the arm well. You can see the frustration on Shimura's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Shimura is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kang yanks on the arm and Shimura is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kang.
