The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson is looking to clinch.
A low kick from Gerard misses
and Johnson counters with a good, hard body kick but Gerard shrugs it off.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gerard swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gerard scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Gerard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gerard goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Gerard blocks a head kick by Johnson.
Johnson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gerard getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Johnson on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Gerard connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Gerard dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and Gerard moves out of range easily.
Decent striking displayed by Gerard there.
Johnson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gerard connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Johnson scrambles back to his feet.
Johnson looks gassed!
Gerard misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gerard connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Johnson momentarily.
Nice straight punches there by Gerard. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gerard.
Johnson is rocked!
Gerard works Johnson's body with a nice hook.
Gerard is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Gerard shuts the power down on Johnson. Lights out, game over! Gerard is your winner.
