Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renato Laranja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wacost Koroma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laranja bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Laranja stands up and beckons Koroma to his feet.
Koroma avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Koroma stuffs the takedown.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Laranja takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Laranja jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Koroma walks away with a smile on his face. Laranja gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Koroma jumps guard but Laranja stands there with Koroma around his waist. Koroma gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Koroma takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Laranja wants to control from the top but Koroma keeps moving.
Laranja will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Laranja's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Renato Laranja has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Laranja changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Koroma tries to avoid it but Laranja manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Koroma to the ground. Koroma escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Renato Laranja.
Well Laranja has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
