Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gray Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Castle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Potter's entrance music is Biggie Smalls - Victory. A fine choice. Castle comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Holy Wars...The Punishment Due kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Potter closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Castle's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Potter controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Castle keeping moving, preventing Potter from controlling successfully.
Castle is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Potter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Castle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Potter.

Potter throws a strike but Castle rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Potter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We're going to have a standup here because Gray Potter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Potter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Castle's waist but Castle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Potter off to one side.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Potter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Castle looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Frank Castle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A nice combination there by Potter.
Potter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Castle as he avoids it easily.

Potter uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Castle.
Castle throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Potter sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Castle fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Potter manages to avoid it.
Castle misses with an uppercut. Potter saw that one coming.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Castle throws a right and a left that Potter avoids nicely.

Castle paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

It looks like Gray Potter has been cut.
Frank Castle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Potter changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Castle looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Castle can't do much from the bottom here.
Castle avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Potter.
Potter cracks Castle with an elbow. That is naaassty.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
An elbow from Potter crashes against the mat.
Potter in side control lands a decent elbow.
Potter throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Potter trying to control the action but Castle is working from the bottom.
Castle manages to work his way to half guard, despite Potter's best efforts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Castle cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Potter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Castle tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Potter is in Castle's guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Potter has a takedown stuffed.
Potter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Castle swivels and escapes.

Castle lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Castle.
Potter fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Castle drops Potter with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Potter looks back up at him and smiles so Castle waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Potter is rocked!
Castle fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Potter square on the jaw! Damn, Potter is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
