Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tomasz Adamek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Tompkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adamek comes to the cage accompanied by KSW. The crowd seem to be enjoying Tompkins's choice of entrance music: Dying Fetus - One Shot, One Kill. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tomasz Adamek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Tompkins! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tompkins slaps away a takedown attempt from Adamek, before circling back to the center of the mat. Adamek shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Adamek looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Adamek working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Tompkins's thigh. Tompkins counters though and makes it back to full guard. Tompkins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Adamek stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tompkins swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adamek is working hard here to advance position. Adamek trying to control the position from guard on top but Tompkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tompkins trying to control the position.
Adamek postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Adamek trying to control the position from guard on top but Tompkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tompkins is adopting a defensive guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Adamek moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Tompkins throws a hook to the side of Adamek's head but Adamek sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Adamek throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tompkins's waist but Tompkins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Adamek off to one side. Tompkins gets caught napping as Adamek dives in and scores a takedown. Tompkins manages to retain guard. Tompkins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tompkins can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adamek trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Tompkins is trying to keep Adamek in close.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Steve Tompkins. Adamek closes the distance and clinches. Adamek fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tomasz Adamek. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tompkins pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A slapping body kick lands there for Adamek. Adamek shoots for a takedown but Tompkins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Tompkins lands an overhand right.
It looks like Tomasz Adamek has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Adamek fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Adamek circles away from the clinch attempt.
A jab from Tompkins does it's job there. Tompkins has Adamek up against the cage in a clinch.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Horrible takedown by Adamek or perhaps it was just good defense by Tompkins which made him look bad. Tompkins throws a nice looking combination but Adamek bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A swing and a miss from Tompkins. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Adamek throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Adamek is breathing heavily. Tompkins misses with a double jab.
Tompkins is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Adamek throws a sloppy head kick and Tompkins moves out of range easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tomasz Adamek will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Tomasz Adamek's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Tompkins fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Adamek shoots in for a takedown but Tompkins shows good takedown defense. Tompkins displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Adamek. Tompkins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Adamek's waist but Adamek gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tompkins off to one side. The fight stays on the outside here - Tompkins looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tompkins closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Adamek is trying to control Tompkins's posture but Tompkins avoids it. Tompkins scores with punches from side control. Tompkins in the domination position with Adamek hanging on. You can see the frustration on Adamek's face as Tompkins controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adamek is not content to let Tompkins control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tompkins advances nicely into full mount. Tompkins landing strikes, looking to finish! Adamek is in a horrible position here. Tompkins smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Tompkins cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tompkins landing shots from mount.
Tomasz Adamek's cut is getting worse. Tompkins controlling from mount. Adamek is looking to get to half guard. Tompkins looking to finish Adamek with some ground and pound. This is bad for Adamek!
Tomasz Adamek's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tomasz Adamek's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
