The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Gutz as he connects with a hook.

It looks like Rainer Varvaskoukku has been cut.
Varvaskoukku fails with the takedown
and Gutz counters with a nice uppercut.

Gutz shoots in and bounces Varvaskoukku off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Varvaskoukku has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gutz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gutz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Varvaskoukku has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gutz has managed to get both his arms back between Varvaskoukku's legs - danger averted.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
