Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Axel Whitecoat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whitecoat kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Seven Nation Army. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Axel Whitecoat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Johnson! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Whitecoat shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Whitecoat closes the distance and clinches. Johnson fails to pull guard.
Johnson jumps guard but Whitecoat stands there with Johnson around his waist. Johnson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Axel Whitecoat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Johnson. Whitecoat swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Johnson has Whitecoat pressed against the cage, preventing Whitecoat from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Johnson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Whitecoat turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Johnson struggling a bit here. Whitecoat connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Johnson some visible discomfort.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Johnson wants to control but Whitecoat postures up. Whitecoat has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Whitecoat working the ground and pound but Johnson is defending the strikes. Whitecoat scoring with punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whitecoat working away. Johnson has one of Whitecoat's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. You can see the frustration on Johnson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Whitecoat tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Whitecoat has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Whitecoat looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. An elbow from Whitecoat crashes against the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson is controlling Whitecoat's position as best he can from this difficult position. Whitecoat prevents Johnson from improving his position. Whitecoat thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Whitecoat working the head and body with strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Whitecoat missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Whitecoat. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Johnson wants to control but Whitecoat is keeping busy.
Johnson wants to get back to full guard. Johnson is looking to control Whitecoat's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Johnson avoid being mounted? Whitecoat controlling the action here. Whitecoat thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whitecoat scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Johnson is not content to let Whitecoat control the position. Johnson is looking to improve his position.
Johnson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Whitecoat working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Johnson is staying active underneath Whitecoat, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Johnson tries to roll over but Whitecoat keeps him under control. Whitecoat looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Whitecoat looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whitecoat sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Johnson defending well though. Johnson actively working from the bottom here. Johnson is trying to control but can't.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Axel Whitecoat dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses. Whitecoat shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johnson is trying to defend but Whitecoat finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Whitecoat is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Johnson is looking to control Whitecoat's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Johnson avoid being mounted? Whitecoat throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Johnson is trying to control but Whitecoat passes into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round. Whitecoat rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Whitecoat is pushing Johnson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Johnson tries for a takedown. No joy.
Whitecoat wants to get back to striking at distance but Johnson won't allow it.
Whitecoat tries to break free but Johnson pushes him back against the cage. Whitecoat lands a right hand. Johnson tries to pull guard but Whitecoat won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Whitecoat has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Johnson regains guard immediately. Whitecoat throws a big right hand that misses. Johnson looking to control.
Whitecoat tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Whitecoat from controlling successfully. Johnson has his foot on Whitecoat's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Whitecoat works his way back into a safe position though. Whitecoat wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Johnson managing to control the position. Johnson is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Whitecoat throwing strikes from guard but Johnson blocks nicely. Whitecoat postures up in Johnson's guard and throws a big left but Johnson blocks it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Whitecoat gets a double leg takedown into Johnson's guard. Whitecoat's corner is telling him to maintain position. Whitecoat postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Whitecoat pulls his head out easily. Whitecoat looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Whitecoat lands a nice short elbow. Johnson wants to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnson won't allow Whitecoat to pass to mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Whitecoat thows a huge punch but Johnson dodges it nicely.

Alex Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A punch lands to the side of Johnson 's head but he takes it in his stride. Whitecoat lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and Whitecoat moves out of range easily. Whitecoat throws a left and a right that both miss
and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Whitecoat is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.
This has been an exciting period of action! Whitecoat has a closed guard, preventing Johnson from standing up. Johnson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Whitecoat is keeping the position for now. Whitecoat looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Johnson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. A left and a right from Whitecoat both land. Nice combination. Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Whitecoat lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Johnson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Whitecoat did well to prevent Johnson getting side control. Johnson wants to work for an arm triangle but Whitecoat is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Johnson stops Whitecoat from standing up. Johnson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Whitecoat's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Whitecoat has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Johnson escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Johnson! Johnson stands up. Axel Whitecoat is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Johnson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Johnson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that's the end of the fight! Alex Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Whitecoat has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
